Behind every business decision is a human one.
Hi, I'm Torin
I've spent my career building businesses. Now I help owners sell them.
In my early twenties I said yes to something without much of a plan, and it turned into about a decade of building and running small businesses: brewery software, a cleaning company, and helping scale a consulting firm. Today I'm a business broker working with owners across Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and the Sea to Sky.
Being on both sides of the table taught me how much the human side of a deal shapes the outcome. This site is where I write about what I've learned from transactions themselves and everything that surrounds them.

In practice it’s usually the opposite: small deals carry all the same buyer fears as large ones, but without the structure that calms those fears down. Here’s why the scrutiny goes up as the price tag goes down.
